Sleep Apnea Symptoms

Common symptoms of sleep apnea include:

  • Loud snoring
  • Rapidly falling asleep during quiet moments of the day
  • Falling asleep while driving
  • Lack of energy during the day
  • Waking up with a very dry and/or sore throat
  • Morning headaches
  • Awakening with a gasping, choking or snorting sensation
  • Insomnia
  • Restless sleep
  • Memory or learning problems and not being able to concentrate
  • Mood swings or personality changes
  • Feeling irritable or depressed

In children, sleep apnea can cause poor performance at school, hostile or angry behavior and hyperactivity.
