New patients meet with Dr. Gary Lee in our beautiful consultation room. Be prepared to answer a few questions not asked at your average dental office. Next, Dr. Lee will review your medical and dental histories. (If you are taking any prescription medications, please bring a list of these medications. It is very important for Dr. Lee to know what medication(s) you are taking.) The comprehensive exam continues with necessary X-rays designed to give Dr. Lee a complete look at the underlying structures of your jaw and teeth. After Dr. Lee reviews the X-rays, he begins the examination of your mouth with an oral cancer-screening exam. A thorough inspection of the health of your gums and your teeth follow. Throughout the entire examination, Dr. Lee will call out the health of your mouth for his wonderful assistant to notate and chart. The exam concludes with Dr. Lee reviewing with you the health status of your mouth.
For patients returning to Gary W D Lee DDS for a six-month examination, X-rays will not be necessary unless required for a new issue like a broken or infected tooth.
For some new patients, the final portion of your visit to Gary W D Lee DDS will be a thorough cleaning of your teeth and gums. A member of our hygiene team will gently yet thoroughly clean your teeth and gums, finishing the procedure with a polish designed to highlight your healthy smile.
