Is a bone graft needed

There are times when bone volume is insufficient to place a dental implant.  Lack of bone may be in the width, the height, or both.  When this occurs, a bone graft is used to augment existing bone.  This can be done at the time of dental implant placement, or may be a separate procedure.  If a graft is necessary, the cost of placing the implant increases.
